EE and DR Research
EES Consulting frequently provides in-depth energy efficiency research and unique analytical support to clients who need customized solutions. Both market research and/or technical research are often needed for both EE and DR. The EE industry relies on innovative new technologies that can enter the marketplace to provide the same or better services while using less energy.
Regional Technical Forum
EES Consulting received a contract from the RTF to provide an update to its ProCost cost-effectiveness calculation tool. ProCost is used for the region’s planning process as well as for calculating the cost-effectiveness for each RTF-approved energy efficiency measure.
The Regional Technical Forum hired EES Consulting to develop a “Standard Cost Information Workbook” which includes data for EE measure costs and benefits that are common to multiple measures. Determining incremental costs for EE measures is especially important for calculating cost-effectiveness.
Bonneville Power Administration
EES Consulting developed the Utility Potential Calculator (UPC), a conservation potential assessment tool built on the platform of the Northwest Sixth Power Plan supply curve models. This tool enables utilities to obtain quick estimates of their potential using local service territory data.
EES also developed the “Handbook for Potential Studies in the Northwest” which describes methods for conducting potential assessments for NW utilities.
Electric Power Research Institute
EES Consulting conducted research among North American utilities and developed a report titled “Energy Efficiency Program Best Practices”. This report covers best practices of both energy efficiency and demand response programs and provides utilities with detailed examples of model programs.
